Inner Stength Tae Kwon Do recently sent four students to the first ever Canada Open!  The Canada Open is an International Tournaments for Blackbelts only. It hosted a junior competiton as well as a senior and Olympic Category.

Renee Carew, Brenan Bungay, Nicole Joycey, and Monika Leonard all participated. It was a wonderful experience for all of our young athletes, and a job well done by all!

One of our students at Inner Strength Tae Kwon Do…has a family member who lives in Austrailia and has an unmatched passion for Muay Thai.
Her passion for Mauy Thai has taken her all over the world to train and fight and delve deeper into the art she loves. Jo was home recently and when asked to come into our school and talk with the students she was honored to do so.

She talked with the students about achieving their goals, by taking care of themselves with proper diet, exercise, training hard, believing in themselves. Setting goals and achieving them. The students were quite interested in the session and also asked Joanna to demonstrate Muay Thai kick boxing.

It was a great evening at the school.

Some of Jo’s accomplishments:
3 time WKA Austrailian Champion
WPKA World Champion 2008

She has had over 15 fights, in places such as Perth, New Zealand, Thailand and Jamaica.

In 2008 she won the gold medal making her the current World Champion!
Jo trains very hard and believes that a healthy body creates the base for a healthy mind which has led her to achieve so much against physically stronger and heavier opponents.  

Maybe when Jo visits the next time she will meet some of our Champions at Inner Strength Tae Kwon Do!
